On 11th November 2018, 1st Wanborough Scouts went to St.Andrews Church, Wanborough, to show their respects for all of those lost in battle from 1914 onwards. There was a significant number of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, one of the best turnouts for many years, who formed a guard of honour for the congregation on entry and exit to the church.
The Scouts delivered two readings during the service; planted a field of poppies in the graveyard and recited “In Flanders Fields” by John McRae as people left the church. The sun shone and the rain stayed at bay providing a suitable backdrop to this special event.
